The cases in this series span five decades: from a woman left over 70 years ago on a luggage rack in a train at Paddington Station, to a man left in toilets near a football stadium in Wolverhampton as recently as 1989, highlighting the important fact that babies continue to be left to this day.
We meet the key players impacted in each case, from the foundlings themselves, to their adoptive parents, who have tried to protect their children from the thought they were ‘abandoned’; to the people who found them as babies on their doorstep or in a public loo; to the nurses who looked after them and eventually, as the searches unfold, to their birth siblings and even birth parents.
